KUALA TERENGGANU, (Bernama) - The Terengganu hockey team will return to the Razak Cup competition after a five-year absence when the competition kicks off in Kuantan, Pahang on March 24.
Terengganu Hockey Association secretary Sabri Salleh said Terengganu would
however, field their Malaysia Games squad, preparing for Melaka edition in May, and not the senior team which has three national players.
"We are not fielding the main team but the Malaysia Games squad. We have not included the senior or national players. But they will be given the green light to join other teams.
"The decision to field the Malaysia Games squad was to give them exposure before going to Melaka," he said.
The three players in the Terengganu fold are Chairil Anuar Abdul Aziz, Mohd
Shahrul Nabil Abdullah and Engku Abdul Malik Engku Mohamad.
He added that Terengganu's last appearance in the Razak Cup was in 2005 where the team emerged runners-up in the second division.
