Fiery encounter in Bukit Jalil

Kuala Lumpur, (Stadiumastro) - It will be the battle of offense versus defence when Negri Sembilan take on Kelantan in the Malaysia Cup final on Saturday.

Negri, with a formidable defence, are seen as the underdogs in the match at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil while Kelantan have powerhouse strikers Indra Putra Mahayuddin and Norfarhan at their disposal.

"We are the underdogs. However, it is okay for me," said Negri coach Wan Jamak.

Negri will be fired up to end their 61-year wait after coming close on three occassions by finishing as runners-up.

Kelantan, twice Malaysia Cup runner-ups, will be eager to better their runners-up result in the FA Cup this year and backed by the 45,000 fans expected to gather at Bukit Jalil, the stage is set for a fiery final.

Kelantan striker Norfarhan Muhammad has vowed to bring home the Malaysia Cup.

"After coming so close in the FA Cup, we want to win the Malaysia Cup. It has been a long and hard season for us and this will be the reward that we are looking for.

"Sould I play, I will give my best, no matter what," said Norfarhan.

With the game being played on neutral ground and both teams prepped and ready, it will not be easy to predict the outcome of this encounter.

National coach K. Rajagobal sums it all: "They will also be playing at a neutral venue so homeground advantage will not count for much. So then, the hunger for success and glory becomes the deciding factor."
