PETALING JAYA, (Stadiumastro) - The FA of Malaysia have found Terengganu negligent for failing to provide adequate security during their Malaysia Cup home match against Negri Sembilan on Oct 3 and have fined the side RM16,000 for all three offences.
The Turtles were found guilty ffor failing to control the crowd after fans littered the pitch with bottles and were duly fined RM5,000 for the offence.
Chaired by Tuan Haji Kamaruddin, the FA of Malaysia's disciplinary board then fined the Terengganu FA RM5,000 for pitch invasion by their fans after the match at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium in Kuala Terengganu.
A third and more serious charge of failing to provide adequate security for match officials saw them fined RM6,000 after a fan rushed to attack match referee Mohamed Rahmat Jantan.
Terengganu have 14 days to submit their appeal.
The disciplinary board have also found Kelantan not guilty of failing to control their fans during their Malaysia Cup group match against Armed Forces at the Selayang Stadium.
In the match, Kelanatan fans were deemed unruly and had set off firecrackers in the stadium but the disciplinary board found that as the home team, Armed Forces were negligent and failed to have enough security personnel at the ground.
Armed Forces will have to answer to the charge at the next disciplinary board sitting.
