LONDON, (AFP) - Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has hit back at West Ham in the row over his club's bid for Scott Parker.
Redknapp was responding to criticism from Hammers chairman David Sullivan, who launched a verbal attack on Spurs earlier this week after news of their move for former Chelsea midfielder Parker leaked out.
Sullivan claimed he was surprised to have received the seven million pounds offer after previously telling Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy that Parker wasn't for sale.
But Redknapp is adamant is Spurs have done nothing wrong.
"What have we done wrong? Who made it public that we made an offer?" Redknapp said.
"You can make an offer for a player if you want to. You can make an offer for anybody.
"I'm sure the chairman must have got some encouragement or he wouldn't have made an offer. So I'm not sure the full story has been told about that one.
"The chairman wouldn't have made an offer unless he thought there was a chance that they wanted to do something."
Redknapp also revealed West Ham have been talking to Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara, a long-time transfer target of Hammers manager Avram Grant, and hinted he felt that was similiar to the Parker situation.
"I think they have been talking to O'Hara," Redknapp said. "So I hear, so his agent said."
Asked whether they had permission for talks, Redknapp said: "I don't know. It happens."
